Hello, I am the Community School Coordinator at Carlin Springs Elementary in Arlington, VA. We are fortunate to have a robust "student support team" to support our students and families. The team includes two school counselors, a school social worker, a school psychologist, a mental health clinician, a behavior specialist, a special ed coordinator and an administrator (and myself). - The Coordinator is responsible for working with school staff, parents, and community organizations to sustain the current partnerships, continue identifying what services and relationships are needed; and identify additional resources accordingly. Areas of focus include: parent involvement, leadership development, and skill-building; health and mental health services for families; and oversight over the comprehensive package of after–school enrichments and tutoring that are included in the Community School.
The Coordinator works closely with the Carlin Springs Principal and other school leadership to ensure the partnerships and activities support the overarching goal of student academic success.
